Does the credit union have other locations?

Connects FCU is a member of the nationwide Credit Union Service Center network. You can access your account at any of the service centers and perform most transactions. Visit our Service Centers section for more information. You can also use other credit unions’ ATMs that display the CU24/CUHERE logos for withdrawals and deposits (if available).

Why are your rates normally better than a bank?

Credit unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives. Our Board of Directors are all volunteers and we have other volunteers to help with the operation of the credit union.  These factors keep our expenses lower and we pass the savings on to our members in the form of dividends, lower loan rates and services.

Why did the credit union change its name?

Changing the name of C&P Telephone Employees Federal Credit Union has been an issue since The C&P Telephone Company was merged with its parent company Bell Atlantic. However, in 1998, new legislation allowed credit unions to grow by adding new companies into their field of membership, thus becoming more diversified. The Board of Directors saw greater importance in changing the credit union name to a name with broader appeal. The credit union will always recognize its roots with C&P Telephone and the communications industry.

If I make a deposit after 2:00 pm, when is my money credited?

Immediately. However, depending upon the item you present, there may be a hold placed on the funds for a limited time as allowed by law. Also deposits to the ATM have a 24 hour hold to allow for machine balancing and verifications.

Do you make mortgage loans?

Connects FCU has first and second mortgages available. Personal, consistent service and trust are the foundations of our mortgage offerings. Whether a first time home or looking to refinance, you have connections. The loan department is waiting to quickly and expertly handle your mortgage needs with the friendly, personal service you deserve.

How much money can I borrow?

Our goal at Connects Federal Credit Union is to place you in the best financial position possible. Our lending process is designed to be expedient, thorough and beneficial. We look at your income, compare it to your debts and along with your credit history, determine your loan options. We calculate a “debt-to-income” ratio ($monthly debts ÷ $monthly income) to determine that you can reasonably afford the loan. The debt-to-income ratio should not exceed 45%. With an acceptable ratio, good credit and a steady source of income you should be able to borrow what you need.

How do I set up an automatic deduction from my account?

For automatic deduction from checking/draft account – give the company a VOIDED check/draft. Routing and Transit # appears correctly on the bottom of your check/draft. For automatic deduction from savings account, give the company the Connects routing number 2 5 1 0 8 2 1 4 9 and your correct account number.  If you have any questions, please call any Connects branch.

Why can’t I get money from the ATM, when I got some yesterday?

Our institution has a $250.00 daily withdrawal limit per member on ATMs. In ATM processing, the “day” is from 6:00 pm to 6:00 pm. If you got $250.00 yesterday after 6:00 pm, you cannot get any more funds from an ATM until after 6:00 pm today.

How do I wire funds to the credit union?

Wires to and from Connects FCU are easy! You would give the “sending” institution instructions to: credit Connects FCU, ABA# 251082149; and final credit; your account.  Provide your name, address, member number and type of account (checking or savings).
